thanksgiving-turkey-clip-art-dc865zBce.jpegMcAuliffe Student Council is hosting this year's Care Harvest of Love Food Drive to help the Care and Share Food Bank of Colorado Springs, November 1st - November 20th.  Our goal this year is to collect 2,600 pounds of food for this amazing organization.  If we reach that goal, Mrs. Ring and Mr. Morris have agreed ti dress as chickens for an entire school day!  The class who collects the most food will also celebrate with a pizza party.  All food donations are welcome, but the Food Bank is really needing soup, tuna, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, macaroni and chess, and canned fruit.
Also, McAuliffe will have a number of themed fundraiser days to help with additional donations.  For every $1 donated, Care and Share can provide 10 pounds of food to those who need it this holiday season (that is the equivalent of 8 meals!).  So look forward to these upcoming theme days when for a $1 donation, students can dress up when they come to school.

November 4 - Hats Off to Hunger (Hat Day)

November 6 - Free From Hunger (Free Dress Day)

November 10 - Say Goodnight to Hunger (Pajama Day)

November 13 - Taking Back Hunger (Backwards Day)

November 18 - Crazy for No More Hunger (Crazy Hair Day)

School Uniforms:
All students are expected to adhere to uniform policy at all times. Uniforms consist of khaki pants, shorts, or school appropriate skirts along with a black, white, navy, or light blue shirt with a collar and no logo. There is no required brand for any part of the uniform. Special days will be designated as non-uniform days (picture day, pajama day, Halloween, etc.). On colder days, turtlenecks and sweaters that adhere to uniform colors are allowed.
For uniform assistance contact  the office at 719-228-0900
Car Pool:
Do you need help getting your children to and from school?  The Colorado Springs Transit Service provides the Metro Rides' School pool Program.  It is a free matching service to help parents find local car pools to aid in getting their kids to and from school.
